DSM-III-R removes the last homosexuality diagnosis (USA)

In 1987 the American Psychiatric Association published the DSM-III-R, removing "ego-dystonic homosexuality" — the last remnant of homosexuality as a mental disorder in the manual, completing the depathologization begun with the 1973 board decision.
