WHO removes homosexuality from its classification of diseases

On May 17, 1990, the World Health Organization (WHO) removed homosexuality from the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10). A milestone of depathologization — the date is now observed as the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT).
